an Introduction
When I visited Tokamachi for the first time, it was rainy sky .
I was building the work of art on the theme of "flying" for
several years.
When I went to Tokamachi one day Aperil after long interval , it was
so fine and sky did't have any clouds. I felt that she soak up me.
Looks of Sky
In order to encounter various expression of the sky in Tokamachi, I
went out before the day broke, and I took many photographs until the
neighborhood became dark. I chose seven pictures which is different
from 500 or so developed shots as a sample of the sky in Tokamachi.
I drew sky on the surface of seven airplanes using seven colors caught
with the photographs.
Those bodies are simple form like a V character. I want to give sky
the form. then, the sky can fly. I think so. The airplane is designed
so that about 20m glide can be carried out.
TOKAMACHI's Sky to TOKAMACHI Street
Sky which carried out the figure of an airplane, I thougut that it
should fly the streets in Tokamachi. Because expressiones of sky are
complex expression of many elements, such as climate, geographical feature,
and geography. The sky in Tokamachi never exists in addition to Tokamachi.
I did the installation of about 600 airplanes to the arcade of the passage
in front of a station.
from TOKAMACHI to the World
If we have a powerful move means, looking at empty, the earth is carried

On the other hand, as mentioned above, same sky does not exist at a
different point. As we cannot face our back squarely, the sky of a different
point does not encounter directly.
I thought of the idea "the sky in Tokamachi flew to the sky of
some town by the cooperator." It is requested from the person who
came to see my studio. After traveling together with them the sky in
Tokamachi meets with the sky of a different town, and will fly.
I expect flying , while Tokamachi's sky spreads by many people.
Other Time and Other Space Now We Looking
"where" Tokamachi's sky flew, I receive a postcard from cooperators.
And I plot it on the map by 7 collers pin, like drawing mosaic.
